Sarah Ray is a native of the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Sarah Ray was a Marketing Manager at Viacom Media Networks in New York City where she was responsible for developing and executing high-impact marketing campaigns for Viacom's networks, including Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central. In January, Sarah Ray decided to make the move to the West Coast, and is now living in San Francisco, CA!
In 2009, Sarah discovered The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), a national non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for all blood cancers. Having lost her grandmother to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Sarah joined LLS’s endurance sports training program, Team In Training. Team In Training trains individuals to complete marathon, triathlon, and cycle events while they raise critical funds to benefit LLS.
Quickly progressing from Team In Training participant, to mentor, to assistant marathon coach, Sarah has helped hundreds of participants reach their goal of completing endurance events. From 2010-2014 she served as the captain of Team Viacom, a Team In Training Corporate group that has supported more than 50 Viacom employees, raised over $175,000, and received two LLS High Fundraiser awards. Sarah, at the invitation of LLS’s New York City Chapter, is a member of its Team In Training Executive Leadership Committee, an entity tasked with growing and developing the Corporate Team Division of the program. Furthermore, Sarah was selected in 2012 to represent Team In Training and LLS as a model in a multi-million dollar national advertising campaign.
Sarah was nominated to participate in the 2013 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign, a special 10-week fundraising effort running from March 27th to June 6th, 2013. Sarah, her Campaign Manager Jennifer Warren, and a dedicated and compassionate team volunteering their time and talent created "The Rally Campaign," whose goal was to raise $100,000 in support of LLS, and build a community of supporters across the nation who are dedicated to rallying for a cancer-free tomorrow.
Sarah and her team raised an incredible $186,358 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in just ten weeks. Sarah Ray was named the 2013 NYC Chapter Woman of the Year and the National Runner Up!
